Canoe named “Best New Technology Introduced Over the Last 12 Months” at the WatersTechnology American Financial Technology Awards
LONDON, NEW YORK, December 13, 2024 – Canoe Intelligence (“Canoe”), the financial technology company powering smarter alts management, was announced last week as the winner of “Best New Technology Introduced Over the Last 12 Months” at the WatersTechnology American Financial Technology Awards.
Hosted by WatersTechnology, the aim of the American Financial Technology Awards is to recognize excellence in the deployment and management of financial technology within the asset management and investment banking communities. The AFTAs honor excellence by recognizing the third-party technology providers who create these solutions and the leading firms that utilize them to optimize their operations, including banks, brokers, asset managers, and hedge funds.
Canoe developed a first-of-its-kind AI-powered technology that helps alternative investors unlock efficiencies. The purpose-built technology automates time-consuming, costly manual workflows related to alternative investment document and data management, extraction, and delivery. Canoe is committed to innovation and leveraging AI and machine learning to drive industry-leading product development in the alternative investment data space.
Canoe submitted a new product, Canoe Asset Data—the first to have launched from the Canoe Data Innovation Hub, an initiative dedicated to driving innovation, standardization, and transparency in the alternative markets launched in October 2023. Within 6 months, the Hub materialized its first project, the Canoe Asset Data Design Partnership, where Canoe experts collaborated with 13 Canoe clients to design and build Canoe Asset Data – a solution that reliably extracts and delivers detailed information pertaining to individual assets or holdings within clients’ investment funds.
Canoe has recently been recognized with several industry nominations, including shortlists for the With Intelligence Fund Operations and Services Awards and With Intelligence Private Asset Management Awards.

On July 9th, Canoe completed its Series C financing round of $36 million, led by Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives. This marks a significant milestone for Canoe, representing a more than 3x increase in its company valuation. The additional capital will fuel Canoe’s strategic initiatives, global growth, and advancement of its AI-driven financial technology platform for alternative investors.
At the end of Q1, Canoe announced the commercial launch of Canoe Asset Data, an innovative solution to the industry-wide challenge of accessing and using complete, timely, and accurate asset-level data. Toward the end of 2023, Canoe released a number of new product offerings, including Canoe Pro, a comprehensive solution that integrates expert services into the client experience.
